Master Copies?A course master copy is the most recently revised (or optimal) version of a web-enhanced, hybrid or fully online course that you may teach. A master copy is never a "live" course (or a course that features student enrollment); it is essentially the architecture, deployed tools and content that make up the course (sans students). The beauty of the master copy is that you may make changes to it any time that you like—for later deployment in some future term.
The OIT-ELN is keen to establish your course master copies for you so that we can archive courses from previous semesters and remove them from the server. This will simplify the faculty "My Courses" view in that you will only see your course master copies and your current ("live") courses.
We know that establising your course master copies is no small task; it will take an investment of a little of your time. We think that you will get a three- or four-fold return on your investment in the near future, as you save time on course development and deployment.
